Tracy teaches exhausted, overweight, middle-aged women how to lose the weight, regain their energy, and emerge healthier. After a decade specializing in geriatric rehab, she noticed a disturbing trend, younger patients were experiencing the same conditions of their older counterparts: strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, and cancer. She saw firsthand, the impact of excess weight playing a role in chronic disease. Connecting the dots, and fearing going down the same path as many of her younger patients, she gained the knowledge that helped lose the extra weight she had been carrying and vastly improved her health. Now, her mission is helping people take control of their weight, their health, and their future before they reach a crisis point. She lives with her husband and two children in scenic Ball Ground, GA, USA.
During my time as an Occupational Therapist working in rehabilitation, I treated a wide range of patients—many in their 80s and 90s—recovering from strokes, heart attacks, diabetes complications, and cancer.
These were conditions that were considered diseases of aging. However, over time, a disturbing trend emerged: I began seeing patients in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s with these same conditions. What was even more striking was the correlation with body weight. Many of these younger patients were significantly heavier than their older counterparts. I began to connect the dots…the common denominator?..Obesity and poor metabolic health.
I saw firsthand how excess weight was a major driver of chronic illness, disability and premature aging. These experiences fueled my passion for prevention and weight management. Instead of just helping people recover from catastrophic health events, I realized the greater impact lay in helping them avoid these conditions in the first place.
At the same time, I was considering starting a family. I looked at my own lifestyle and realized that if I didn’t make changes—if my husband and I continued on the same path—we could be next. I didn’t want to wake up one day facing a diagnosis that could have been prevented. I wanted to be healthy and strong, not just for myself, but for my future children.
That realization sparked a deep dive into understanding what true health really meant. Over the next two decades, I immersed myself in learning how to achieve optimal health, experimenting with different approaches, and ultimately transforming my own body. I lost the extra weight I had carried since college and, in the process, experienced profound health changes—better digestion, sound sleep, more energy, and sailed through perimenopause.
Having experienced this transformation firsthand, I couldn’t keep it to myself. I started helping family and friends, guiding them to lose weight and regain their health. I saw them turn around conditions that once seemed inevitable—fewer digestive issues, less joint pain, improved sleep, more energy, and even reversing early signs of metabolic dysfunction like prediabetes and gout.
Now, I work on the side of prevention. I’ve seen what happens when people reach a crisis point—when a stroke, heart attack, or cancer diagnosis leaves them with no way back. For much of my adult life, I struggled with being overweight and severe joint pain that made walking a challenge, let alone exercise. My sleep was terrible, my energy was low, and worst of all, I was on the verge of a diabetes diagnosis with pre-diabetic sugar levels.
